Ledger-first bookkeeping for your companies

Setttle keeps a double-entry ledger as the source of truth — bank transactions reconcile against it, invoices and receipts post to it, and your agents read from the same books.

Built ledger-first

The ledger is the truth

Journal entries are append-only and always balance. Corrections are reversing entries, so your history can't be rewritten — not by an import, not by an agent, not by a typo.

Reconcile, don't re-enter

Bank statements are external facts. Import them, match them against the books, and the ledger absorbs FX rounding to the cent. Trial balances and reports become arithmetic, not hope.

Agents with clean books

Every plan includes MCP access, so Claude or your own automations can query balances and draft entries — against the same append-only ledger you run.

What's in the books

INV-0042 → paid → entry #1204

Invoices that post themselves

Send an invoice, mark it paid, and the journal entry writes itself. Invoice status and your ledger stay in sync — you never transcribe a payment again.

“software spend, Q1?” → $1,183.00

Agents keep the books too

Point any MCP-speaking assistant at Setttle. It reads balances, pulls reports, and drafts entries — scoped to your permissions, checked against the same invariants.

Receipts, kept

Drop in receipts and they attach to the transactions they belong to, with the source documents stored alongside the entries that cite them.

Several companies, two currencies

Run USD and CAD side by side across entities. Switch between companies, each with its own chart of accounts and base currency — one ledger, many books.

It balances. To the cent.

Setttle enforces the invariant twice: in the ledger package that prices every entry, and again inside Postgres with a deferred trigger. A journal entry that doesn't balance cannot exist — not from an import, not from an agent, not from a mistake.

Two plans. No riddles.
